A Utah mother was arrested for doing the near-unthinkable — pulling her own child’s teeth out in a Walmart restroom.

Jeannine Cherilynn Isom, 47, has been charged with felony child abuse after taking her 7-year-old son into a restroom in the store in American Fork, Utah, and removing not one but two teeth, according to the Associated Press.

She didn’t use any “home” technique to remove them either. The AP reported that the woman purchased needle-nose pliers and hand sanitizer before the April 2 incident. Then she took them into the restroom with her son, and set in to play dentist.

The child was only rescued after his older brother heard the boy’s screaming and came running to his aid.

The brother got the boy out of the restroom, and the mother was arrested.

The boy reportedly told his brother that one of his teeth was actually loose — but the other one was not.

According to KTVX, the condition of the teeth proved the boy was right.

“When she proceeded to extract them, they didn’t come out in one whole piece,” American Fork police Sgt. Cameron Paul told the station. “There were multiple pieces. So that illustrates that they were still very attached to this child’s mouth.”

Now, there is absolutely no telling what occurred in this mother’s head to cause her to go to where she did to do what she did, but something’s obviously wrong.

Hopefully, she can receive any help she needs, and her children receive the safe environment all children need.
